MS-CCSVI-UK takes part in UK rally for Global CCSVI Day 2011

 Wednesday 11th May 2011

On Wednesday 4th May 2011 a rally was organised in London as part of Global CCSVI Day. Once again, as in 2010, the date of 5th May, set for worldwide rallies, was unsuitable here in the UK, due to the date being an election day, meaning that Ministers and MPs would not have been available in Whitehall. Therefore, the rally in London was held a day earlier than elsewhere.

Members of MS-CCSVI-UK joined the rally and took the opportunity to open a dialogue with Andrew Lansley, currently Secretary of State for Health in the Coalition Government.  Members filmed a video of the conversation together with discussions involving various members of MS-CCSVI-UK.

The video can be viewed here.

Venous Insufficiency.  Losing letters, to VI, rather than MS-CCSVI-UK, as a charitable body.

 Sunday 1st May 2011

MS-CCSVI-UK proposes the formation of a body with charitable status to raise the funds necessary to fight a Judicial Review to get treatment to anyone with the condition Venous Insufficiency (VI). It is proposed that such a body be named VITAL (Venous Insufficiency Treatment as Law). Such a body would be additional and separate to the group MS-CCSVI-UK.

The proposal video can be viewed here.

Responses to Inside Out programme by BBC South West

 Sunday 1st May 2011

On 7th March 2011 the BBC SouthWest regional channel aired a report by Sam Smith into CCSVI.  Many viewers found this programme to be highly biased against CCSVI treatment.  A number of viewers made complaints to the BBC. Regrettably, these complaints were then addressed by the reporter herself, rather than those in a position of editorial resonsibility.  A significant number of viewers engaged in a discussion thread on the BBC Points of View website.

Other viewers, members of MS-CCSVI-UK, made a video in response to Sam Smith. The video can be viewed here.
