Currently we have vacancies for volunteers to fulfill the following specific roles:



Medical Researcher:

Daily:
  • Research likely sources for information on different medical organisations, contact details, sphere of activity.
  • Record data on spreadsheet for mailing information
  • Commission or find relevant information documents to send out to different organisations.
Weekly:
  • Search for Vascular / Radiologists email addresses
  • Search for other relevant medical professionals, organisations, universities and hospitals
  • Send emails to the above bringing their attention to CCSVI
  • Follow up on any replies
  • Follow up any online research if requested by any of the group
  • Record information collected and liaise with interested professionals
  • Put interested parties in touch with each other



Diary Keeper:


Daily:
  • Record important events and information gathered from emails and conversations
  • Record any important information gathered from facebook
  • Save daily to Office Live
Weekly:
  • Create a new diary for each week and after two weeks file in appropriate monthly folder in Office Live.


 
Website Researcher:


Daily:
  • View regularly updated CCSVI sites for breaking news, newly available scientific papers and scientific presentations.
  • View group’s facebook site to monitor current conversations with links included to breaking news.
  • View social media sites: in particular various facebook CCSVI groups, CCSVI YouTube channels and CCVI blogs for quality individual contributions
  • Forward links to content to Website administrator for inclusion in the website daily updates.

Weekly (or as required):

  • Compose news articles for website blog page about the latest activities of the group.  Liaise with other website content editors for moderation before publishing.

 



Website administrator:


Daily:
  • Log into website, check for any immediately visible errors and correct if needed.  General day-to-day housekeeping of website elements.
  • Create image files for links to news items or for other use on website (Photoshop). Save as optimised for web JPEG images.
  • In ‘BackEnd’ of website - Add new links to press articles, video presentations and broadcast video and blogs to relevant pages of website.  Add the accompanying image files.

 

Weekly (or as needed):

  • Save PDF’s of new research papers onto remote web server.
  • Use FTP (file transfer protocol) to transfer new PDF’s to website server.  This includes both research papers and any new files created by the group i.e. newsletters and user templates.
  • In ‘BackEnd’ of website – Move news articles (in weekly batches older than 2 weeks) out of latest news and into the appropriate archives.
  • In ‘BackEnd’ of website – Create new menus, modules, articles and links where necessary.
  • In ‘BackEnd’ of website – Install specific components, modules and plugins such as newsfeeds and polls whenever needed.

 

Necessary Experience:

  • Must have previous experience of website administration using the Joomla Content Management System.  No HTML programming experience is needed for this position. Although administration of the website is to be carried out in partnership with the current website administrator it is essential that an administrator is self-programming and is able to work independently in Joomla.

 



Political Researcher:

Daily:

  • Research likely sources for information on political figures, parties and government departments.
  • Research All Party Parliamentary Committee for Health
  • Record data on spreadsheet for mailing information
  • Commission or find relevant information documents to send out to different bodies.

Weekly:

  • Search for MPs and Minister’s email addresses
  • Search through House of Parliament documents relevant to Health
  • Send emails to the above bringing their attention to CCSVI
  • Follow up on any replies
  • Follow up any online research if requested by any of the group

When Needed:

  • Record information collected and liaise with interested politicians
  • Make connections between MPs and constituents who can make representation.
  • Make connections between MPs and doctors
